Terms of Service
These terms are the agreement between you and Mundi when you use the Mundi app and website. Mundi is run by Christopher Inegbedion, an individual based in the United Kingdom ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using Mundi, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Mundi.
1. What Mundi is
Mundi lets you talk by voice with people around the world, each speaking their own language, with live AI translation; join rooms; and talk to Bouba, an AI character you can talk to about anything. Mundi changes as we build it: features may be added, changed or removed.
2. Who can use Mundi
- You must be 18 or older.
- You must be able to enter a binding agreement, and not be barred from using Mundi under the law that applies to you or by an earlier ban from us.
- One person, one account. Don't create accounts for others or impersonate anyone.
3. Your account
You sign in with your email address and a code we send you. Keep access to your email secure; you're responsible for what happens on your account. Until your email is verified, you can set up your profile but can't talk to anyone. Your username is visible to people you meet; choose one that follows these terms. You can delete your account at any time in the app.
4. Talking to people: the rules
Mundi only works if people feel safe talking to strangers. When you use Mundi, you must not:
- harass, bully, threaten, intimidate or insult anyone;
- say or share anything hateful about people's race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or other protected characteristics;
- make sexual remarks or advances that aren't wanted, or say anything sexual involving a minor (we report this to the authorities);
- pressure anyone for personal information, or share someone else's;
- scam, defraud or try to get money from anyone, or promote products or services;
- encourage self-harm, violence or anything illegal;
- record, broadcast or publish a conversation without the consent of everyone in it;
- pretend to be someone else, including us;
- use bots, scripts or automated tools, create accounts in bulk, or get around limits or bans;
- interfere with, probe or reverse-engineer Mundi, or try to access data or accounts that aren't yours.
5. Safety and enforcement
To enforce these rules, an automated safety system checks what's said in conversations as it happens, as described in our Privacy Policy. If you break the rules, we may warn you, end a chat or remove you from a room, suspend your device for a period, or close your account. We may do this automatically and without notice where it's needed to keep people safe. If you think we got it wrong, email support@mundi.chat.
If someone behaves badly towards you, leave the chat, and tell us at support@mundi.chat. If you or someone else is in danger, contact your local emergency services.
6. Translation and Bouba are AI
- Translation can be wrong. Translations are made by AI in real time and can miss meaning, tone or context. Don't rely on them for anything important, such as medical, legal, financial or safety matters.
- Bouba is an AI, not a person. What Bouba says is generated by AI. It can be inaccurate, and it isn't advice. Bouba may look things up on the web, and what it finds may also be wrong.
- Other people are not us. People you meet on Mundi are not checked or endorsed by us, and what they say is their own. Be careful about what you share and who you trust.
7. What you say
What you say on Mundi is yours. So that Mundi can work, you give us permission to transmit, transcribe, translate and voice what you say to the people you're talking to, and to check it for safety, as described in our Privacy Policy. This permission ends when the conversation does, except for safety records we keep for the time stated there.
8. Our part
Mundi, including its design, characters, name and software, belongs to us. You may use the app for your own personal, non-commercial use under these terms. We'll provide Mundi with reasonable care and skill, but it's offered as it is and as available: it may sometimes be unavailable, slow or contain mistakes, especially while it's new.
9. Paid features
Mundi is free at the moment. If we introduce paid features or subscriptions, we'll tell you the price and terms clearly before you buy. Purchases in the iOS app are made through Apple and also follow Apple's terms.
10. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, or your rights as a consumer under UK law. Otherwise, we aren't responsible for losses that weren't reasonably foreseeable, for what other users say or do, or for business losses (Mundi is for personal use). Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or £50 if that's more.
11. Ending
You can stop using Mundi and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if we're required to by law, or if we stop offering Mundi; where we can, we'll give you notice.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Mundi changes. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using Mundi after that, you accept the new terms; if you don't agree, you can delete your account.
13. The law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can bring a claim in your local courts; otherwise the courts of England and Wales will decide any dispute. Please contact us first: most problems can be sorted out quickly.
